I am writing a book about a mountain district in Norway. There I found that a man called E. Beldam lived around 1910-20. I have found out that the Beldam family lived in Royston, and therefore my question to you is: Do you know where I can find documents or persons that may throw some light upon the history of this family, which I think was quite prominent in the area. Any information relating to the family is of interest to me.

I have had more information from Egil, as follows (Ed)
The Beldam who settled here was a very, very eccentric man and there is a lot of stories about his life here. At the same time he was a learned man. I have seen his Library with beautiful books in Greek and Latin. He married a farmer's daughter here and sent her to a private school in England and raised a girl with her in the mountain valley. This daughter got married to a man who was a brother of my grandmother.

From John Mabbitt

Can anybody help me please? I am currently researching my family history and cannot find when and where my maternal grandmother, Ellen Sarah Rosendale, was born. I have researched all the usual genealogy websites. Family members are certain that Ellen was born in Kneesworth about 1880. According to her marriage certificate her father was John Rosendale. She married Frederick Henry Howes in 1898.

I wonder whether there are any Rosendales still living in the area that either might be related or know of the family. Or perhaps, is there anybody else who can help me to track her down? I would be very grateful for any information, however remote it may seem. I don't even know whether she had any siblings. It is possible that her mother was Sarah Ann Pearmain but I can't prove this. Without her birth certificate I don't know who both her parents were. Anyone reading this may know of somebody who can help me, so please pass it on.

Please contact me either by:-
