The Federation of Family History Societies Ezine

Wanting to share and distribute family history news, and other interesting and related information, to as large an audience as possible, the Federation of Family History societies (FFHS) embarked on an exciting new project in the early part of 2007. his was the launch of the FEDERATION EZINE. This is a topical and colourful e-mail newsletter which will carry family and local history news, reviews, competitions and much more to hundreds of thousands of individual researchers around the world, as well as the Federation's Member Societies in the UK and overseas.

Casualty Records

Casualty Records are available for consultation at TNA. In addition, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission holds details of the burial place or commemoration site for all those who died in service between the years 1914-21 and 1939-47. A search fee may be levied but their web site provides free access to the Debt Of Honour database. Details of Naval Personnel who were buried at sea are contained in memorial registers produced by the Commission. The DPB holds a complete set of memorial and cemetery registers, together with various operational and unit histories, some of which may make reference to casualties, and many published rolls of honour.
